Our Studio Mascots

ABS is an animal friendly studio and often times you will find various Mascots
in attendance at class.
Vladamir
Is a rescue bird..we think about 13yrs old..and is a male Umbrella Cockatoo.  When he came to us he did not speak, but has since learned a few words/phrases.... "You got it", "ok",  "I love you"..."hello", "yep", and "OK"

Vladamir hasn't been around many people and probably lived his life mostly in a cage, but he is starting to learn his social skills--at the studio and on our many outings (with the help of Baylea).

He apparently was a hand fed baby, is very tame and loves to be petted...he also loves to pick   (pick spots that don't belong on you.....like moles, freckles and bruises ) Its a grooming activity natural to these type of cockatoos,  We are working on changing this behavior.

Update November 2019--Vladamir now has his own fan club at the local Beef O Brady's and recently participated in a wedding....see pix.
Baylea
Baylea is a fawn Great Dane, she came to us 8yrs ago.
She crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on May 25, 2021
Sydney
Sydney
Dec 3, 1987 - Nov 18, 2017

Sadly we lost Sydney to a ruptured aortic aneurysm on Nov 18th

Our original Studio Mascot is Sydney--a lovely Citron Cockatoo owned by Kadayif. Sydney has been a "teaching bird" since the studio opened.

With a vocabulary of well over 70 words and phrases, he often greeted new dancers with "hello", "what ja' doing", and his name "Sydney Sinquefield"

Although he was fluent in many of the choreographies, the students have learned that he often mixes up the order of the movements a bit--whether by mistake or on purpose is unknown, but his laughter when Kadayif corrects the students leads some to believe he did it for his on enjoyment.......
